Modern Aircraft Cylinder Production (outsourced)

They are making cylinder shaped objects using centrifugal castings. Not as strong as extruded pipe but it doesn't seem these are going into an airplane.

Remeber we used to make airplanes out of wood, cotton, and animal glue.

I have seen a couple of these, I guess Indian, videos previously. Thanks for this one. It is amazing to me to see what gets done with such basic tools.

One video I saw earlier was about broken crankshaft repair. They got two broken cranks and welded them together at a journal to make a whole one. very similar shop, lathe that could have been 100 years old. Seemed to have a big pile of cranks to work on.

They will no doubt be pleased to discover that they can buy the correct touch up paints for their CNC machine.
