Air show pilot Warren Pietsch was in Maine recently and flew the B-25 in the Texas Flying Legends show at Wiscasset Airport. TFL aircraft are in residence at KIWI for two months(until early October). I photographed him in numerous frames of the pilots group.
Today I was at Twitchell's Airport(Turner, Maine) to check on my "406"installation; also, giving the tour to a friend from New Hampshire. While we were in the floats to wheels/wheels to floats) building at the float plane base there was a fellow on the other side of the building. "That guy in the chinos and white T-shirt could pass for Warren Pietsch," I thought. Nah!
Later, I was in the office while talking to Dale Twitchell. "I just saw a fellow at the float plane base that looked just like Warren Pietsch, who flies with the Texas Flying Legends," I commented.
"It is. He's been working on his float plane rating while he's in Maine . Son of a gun! I hadn't gone over to speak to him because if I'd been wrong I'd have felt pretty foolish. He looks different when not in the classy flight suit, but the tan and face seemed to be he.
