My lovely Bride wanted to go out in the storm last night because we heard some little critter crying outside. At least I talked her into waiting for the storm to pass, she did, and the baby squirrel survived.

4 to 5 weeks old and delivered to the rescue shelter this morning....I really need to get some sleep...refilling a plastic water bottle with hot water and covering it with a sock to keep the litle bugger warm was accomplished in split shifts.

Only at the Mascelli zoo!

We had one of those little things in the lab for a few days. Used one of the incubators, if I recall. Gave him to wildlife services. No doubt he's out there somewhere easting nuts or begging students for food.

Or taunting drivers by doing the suicide run in front of the car traveling down the street....

Might be working as a lineman for the county:

ME: So how do you find the source of an electric outage?

ELECTRIC COMPANY HARDHAT: Absent storm damage, drive the local area looking for the burnt squirrel lying next to the road.
