Lowrance 2000-C

Check around your local airports to see if they'll match/beat price. That might save you shipping plus you have your local person to complain to. You could also find one a tad farther out and just fly there to pick it up. (Save shipping, get time, + +)

I ordered one from aerostarstore.com for $599 a few months ago. When it hadn't shipped in two weeks (they said it was out of stock), I canceled it. Now they show it for $639, but I don't know if they really have it or not.

Who has the best price?

Best I have found is $649.00 @

any cheaper with Terrain Upgrade included in the price ?

I have no pricing info, but you may be interested in a data point or two...

We love the 2000c. We have both the Garmin 496 and the 2000c, and the Lowrance is a vastly superior GPS.

We have panel-docked the 496 on the co-pilot's side (my wife, Mary, is also a pilot, so we almost always fly with 2 pilots) so that all the button mashing for weather and XM music can be done on that dinky screen by the non-flying pilot.

The pilot has the 2000c's big, bright screen on the yoke. We fly VFR, so over time, it has become our primary navigational instrument. (I turn the VORs on once or twice a year, just to make sure they still work.) The 2000c is easier to see and use than the 496, but (or course) it lacks weather.

That said, after ~300 hours of use, ours is on its way back to Lowrance for repairs. Several of the buttons on the unit stopped working (Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't), and Lowrance charges a flat $212.45 for repairs.

The fact that I'm paying that (rather than buying a different make and model GPS) is an indication of how much we like the unit. Your mileage may vary, of course, but I still think the 2000c is the best value in the aviation GPS market.

Thanks for the endorsement, but I'm pretty much sold already.

the $599 price does not have the terrian feature. I'v asked AS&S and Marv Golden.

I don't think they ship without the terrain feature. I think the $99 was to upgrade units already in the field.

I could be wrong though, it's happened once or twice in the past.

My flying buddy has two Lowrance 2000C's. Love them. Just wish they had weather.
