I've only encountered this a couple times but I'm bringing it up now because I've also only encountered it in one direction: do you think these prices are slow to update to steer people to the airport to buy fuel.

One recent example of this is KTCY. They are showing $4.05 on Foreflight, so I stopped there a week ago only to find out that it was higher, but since it was still lower than my home airport I decided to get fuel anyway.

I see that AirNav may have more up-to-date info as they list it as being $4.42 with a date of 01-APR-2021.

Most of those fuel prices are updated by ordinary users like yourself. If you see an old price on Skyvector or Airnav, please update it.

I didn't realize I could update the prices in FF. I'll have to look into that.

I flew XC Chicago to Denver and back last month and every FBO was telling me they just hiked fuel prices by 30-60 cents. It may also be timing given we seem to be in an uptrend in fuel costs.

That being said, I’m still paying more for premium in my car than within an hour of here for the plane.

Crowdsourced data. Gimmick software feature. Garbage in, garbage out.
It worked for GasBuddy.com but I suppose that's a different demographic and investor pool.

The fuel websites call FBOs frequently for updates.

I went to 0A3 a few weeks ago and when I pulled up for fuel, there was a big digital sign displaying the fuel price *$2.95*, I was amazed and couldn’t believe my eyes - that was an awesome price. So I slide my card in and start to ground the airplane while the transaction processes and then the price on the big sign changes to $3.65... they were displaying the price for Jet-A! o_O

My airport does that too. Drives me nuts.
