Well I have been developing an online scheduling system aimed at flying clubs and flight schools for a couple years now. Although I started "accepting" live customer signups about 10 months ago, I haven't really done any advertising...I think I need more feedback with regard to usability, desired features, etc. Perhaps some members here would be interested in testing it out?

I'll give it a look, I've been looking for something like this. More looking for a plugin for Joomla! I've been using this http://www.dhtmlx.com/blog/?p=383 but truthfully, I think a web cam pointed at the whiteboard might be better. since that is where most of the scheduling takes place and is easier than firing up a computer and entering the data. Most people call to talk out reservations anyway, clubs might be different, forcing the general public at a flight school to go the computer route might be tall order and it's more of a pain to type it in than just point a camera at the whiteboard. I currently have the dxhtmlscheduler wired into joomla! and facebook you can use either account that keeps the masses from having to dedicate one login to only scheduling a plane every once in a while. Most people still call and the whiteboard is by far more accurate at any given point in time.

The first two FBOs where I rented had website systems, Schedule Pointe and Flight Schedule Pro respectively. Then I had to rent from a place without Internet scheduling. I still kinda hate that. Not that I hate talking to their desk girls, but it makes me uncomfortable to extract the availability information from them, when it is available at a glance at the website. Website adds valuable transparency.

I'd say 50% of the "regulars" call up and say. "was thinking bout flyin' saturday what's going on with the 150". The reply is "such and such might schedule a lesson but his wife has the flu, he can only fly before lunch, you'd be fine after that or you can have it earlier if he can't make it" I guess it depends on where you are with 5 students and 5 renters who will defer or wait to see if a student needs it, working it out tends to be better than "I have from 1:00-4:00, don't even try". Some folks are more considerate and flexible than others, computers have a hard time with that.

This is how my school is. And they use paper and pencil and only answer the phones at certain times! If you can't reach them you don't know what the schedule is. Old fashioned but they don't punish no-shows (yet).

My club uses ScheduleMaster as well. I hate that Java applet with a passion. Never works right with my Mac, and I don't always have a Windows PC around to schedule with.

I have used FlightSchedule Pro for the last several years at my aircraft rental business...very nice system...happy with it!

Schedule master reminds me not so much..very pedestrian at best

I have used FlightSchedulePro and AircraftClubs.com and think that FlightSchedulePro is more intuitive. I checked out your demo site as a USER and seems to be on par with both of those. One thing that I would really like is an app or at least a mobile site built. It is always a pain to log-in to either of the ones I have used in the past to make or edit reservations. Also - an easy way to click and communicate with those who have the plane booked before or after me (to let them know of any squawks, request gas levels, forgotten items, etc). Good luck with your venture!
