My old Lightspeed QFR XC (ANR) headset must be aware of the recent posts asking about repairs of Peltor and Bose headsets, and not wanting to be left out, has begun to split along the sheathing of its dual plug cables. The cable in question is terminated with a tiny white plastic plug that plugs into the control box circuit board, and I can't see how to remove and reinstall that plug on a generic replacement cable. So I'm looking for either a source of a suitable replacement cable with the plug attached and properly wired, or someone who repairs this type of headset. Lightspeed no longer supports them and does not have repair or replacement parts other than possible ear seals. Suggestions?
I have tried taping and heat shrink sealing the existing cable, and that fixes a split area, but the cable just splits again in a different spot.
ps. I have a note into Lightspeed asking if any of their more recent headsets use dual plug cables that will fit the QFR XC. I found a replacement cord for Zulu headsets online, and it has a similar looking white plug for connection into the control box.
