Can I fly Light Sport Aircraft with a PPL?

Yes you can. Without a current medical, too, as long as you haven't been denied a medical.

...as long as you hold a valid US drivers license, your last medical wasn't suspended, revoked, or denied (or you have never applied for a medical), and you are in good enough health to honestly say you are safe to fly as a PIC in a LSA. Note that if you're flying on a DL in lieu of a medical, you are subject to all limitations on your DL.

Note that without a valid medical, you must abide by the limitations for Sport Pilots in 61.315(c), although as the holder of a PPL, you are not subject to the airspace restrictions of 61.325.

That's exactly what I'm doing these days. :)

Thats great to hear!
Even though I am going back to school on monday for my PPL and instrument, I hope to be flying the Light Sport often @ http://www.californiasportaviation.com/. Since there was such a gap in my training and I have 30 hours, I had considered just taking these hours to Light Sport. But then I would be restricted. Just like in my Native England, where you can pass your driving test in an automatic but cannot drive a stick shift. Might as well get the PPL and the skies my oyster! :)

No problem,if you fly to the light sport standards,if you don't have a medical. If you have a medical you can fly the light sport to ppl standards.
