Lame Aviation Named Businesses

In the early 1980's the airport at Hershey, PA in Derry Township, had an FBO named Derry Air.

Used to date a girl from England. She hated it when I complimented her London Derry Air.

Where I grew up in Texas there was a bar, not a nice one, called, ''The Office''.

''I'll be home late dear, I am still at the office....''
There used to be a bar in St. Louis called Fucifino. Same general idea, but starts with "Where are you?"

I seem to recall a topless joint near the Toronto airport called The Landing Strip.

...and no matter what they tell you, hudapp.com is not a new avionics company :rolleyes:

Actual company near KFUL...

Where is that? I was based at KFUL for a while and lived in the area for 33yrs but don't recognize it.

Sam & Ella's Ice Cream

That name gets used a lot. The absolute best restaurant in Medford, WI carried that name. They would only allow us 1 night a week because they need to keep their regular customer basis going. We were there for 6 months and our group would fill their second seating. But then, we were never there Fri thru Mon.

Good times. They didn't have menus, they grew all their vegetables, and we never had a bad meal.

It's on Commonwealth avenue, just west of KFUL. (8181 Commonwealth Avenue, Buena Park, CA)

I only caught sight of it when I decided to look north. Generally there isn't a lot of interesting things to see at that part of the block, and I'm usually staring at Bernie's Place because it's a hole-in-the-wall, family run Mexican Food restaurant with excellent food. (7912 Commonwealth Ave.) :p

Sam & Ella's Ice Cream

When I was in a tech school in Waco back in the late 70s, there were two..... let's call them burger restaurants....that made truck stop cafes look like 5 star restaurants.

One was called ''Ptomaine Tommy's'' and the other was called ''Dog 'N Burger''. Actually not bad burgers but the places looked like heck.
