Tentatively looking at flying down to PBI in a couple of weeks to catch a Spring Training baseball game. Anybody been in/out of PBI lately that has any intel to share? Last comment on Airnav is from last summer that mentioned a $50+ landing fee in addition to a $35 facility fee. That was based on a bizjet, though, so curious about fees for bug smashers.

TIA,
CJ

There are three FBO's, I'd call each one and see who has the best deal. I'd imagine that would be Atlantic, but you should double check.

Not sure what day of the week you are going, but Thursday afternoons are very busy with arrivals, and Sunday afternoons are very busy with departures. Might want to avoid those times.

If you want to save some money, go to LNA.

PBI controllers are good, but study the airport diagram a little before your arrival, there are a few spots you could get tripped up if you aren't careful.

Palm Beach is a high end tourist destination, take the American Express.

Pretty easy airport in and out of, been there 3-4 times in the past 6 months. I have no idea what the fees were.

I have been into PBI a few times. No problem with traffic or airspace. The airport charges a $15 landing fee for single-engine planes, which is collected by by the FBOs.
Of the three FBOs, Atlantic is best for the piston crowd. Charges are $20 per night tiedown and a one-time "infrastructure" fee of $20 or $25. There is also a handling fee which is waived with purchase of 15 gallons fuel. As you can see on Arnav or other sources, their fuel price while no bargain is much better than Signature or Jet Aviation, which have similar if not greater fees. The staff was pleasant.
Alternatives in the area don't save you much. Signature at North County F45 charges a whopping $25 per night, $5 one-time security fee, and there is a $29 handling fee waived with fuel purchase. Self-serve is a reasonable $4.75 and hasn't changed in years. It's way out there though, and I consider their fees outrageous given the location and level of service. Lantana LNA will cost $15 or $16 per night, no other fees but fuel prices higher than Atlantic.
PBI is worth it for the convenience unless your actual destination is farther out.

Good info. We're meeting my bro-in-law who will be down there for the week, so he will shuttle us to/from the ballpark (Ballpark of the Palm Beaches). Looks like it's a whopping 5 minute difference in drive from PBI vs LNA. Difference in fuel price will make fees pretty much a wash between the two, but I'm guessing LNA would be easier for my bro-in-law to find FBO, etc. than at PBI. Either way, good to have intel in hand. Thanks!

FBO's are pretty easy to find at PBI, just turn from Southern Blvd, well away from the airline stuff.
If staying for a week I'd probably go to Lantana, which would allow for a sightseeing flight or side trip without getting hit with fees again

Wow, Atlantic is WAY cheaper there. I've heard the 2 GA focused airports there are pretty good, but the gas looks similarly overpriced.

Well... Sounds like they are actually staying down near Hollywood, so maybe we'll go into FLL instead.
