A great deal of pilots have many more hours than this, but I started flying when I was 62, and am still VFR , but I just logged 78 trips to the Bahamas, and this is a milestone for me.

The hours were slow going, but they added up.

When you read about pilots involved in mishaps, if they have less than 500 hours they were considered "Inexperienced Pilots". It seems if they have more than 500 hours they are usually referred to as Experienced.

Yes I know this is not always the case, and varies from News reports, but I really wanted to get to the experienced side of the log book. Being from a law enforcement background, the label of "rookie" Cop or Pilot just stinks.

To the New pilots out there, if I can do it... Its there for you too.

Congrats, hours are only a number,it's the fun of flying . Enjoy 67 and enjoy every flight.

Always fun to hit a new milestone in the logbook, no matter how small.

I have "Bahama trip envy".

Congratulations, I just hit 100 hrs and I would say still very inexperienced as I learn something new on every flight.
The other thing that these milestones do is give you an easy multiplier to figure out how much you have spent on flight hours. Here's to hoping the wife never runs that calculation.

Congratulations again, and awesome destination to fly to as well.

Milestones are accomplishments. They might not mean something to a guy doing it for a living and hit that mark in the first year, but a casual flyer can revel in the fact that he's made it past 100 hours, 200 hours, 500 hours, or in my case, 600. All the while holding down a real job to pay for all this. It's not trivial. Our logbook is full of hours WE paid for, worked for, achieved what less then 1% of the population has ever done.
Congratulations on a job well done. Keep up the SAFE great work.

Congrats! At the rate I'm going, my logbook will fill up (in 2-1/2 pages) around 700 hours.

Not sure if I should celebrate filling the book or wait for 1000 hours. Didn't do anything at all for 500; I was on my way to a funeral then.

Don't. I hate each and every trip out there. Everyone's got their hand out, the airports are barely maintained, and ATC is a joke.

Okay, the clear, shallow blue water is sorta pretty...there's that.

Yeah, but for you and I flying is work. For others that don't do this for work, stuff like that can add to the adventure so to speak.

Point taken.
