The picture that rates number 1 is from a guy named Vic and is close to the end of the thread. Its the one of water shedding off the airframe and vapor trail off the prop... That should win some photo contest somewhere.

You're right!! I bet with a few reference points, you could measure the pitch of his prop with that photo!

Amazing landing! Johnson Creek looks to be an amazing place. As one who does most flying in the flatlands, I thought flying in NZ was something else - it still is, but this has its own brand of beauty. One begins to see the additional utility of tailwheel aircraft....

Actually Johnson Creek is one of the easier of the back country strips. I think that some of the others are more challenging. Like this one called Mackay Bar with a blind left turn on short final and it is about 6ooo ft down in the canyon. It is on the main Salmon River.
