Hi POA pilots, I used to be on this forum some but got away from it for some unknown reason. I just wanted to let you know that I am still flying at 89 years old. I flew from S49 Vale, OR. to KBKX Buckeye, AZ. in Feb. to go to the AOPA Airfare. That was a great flight, I have a son that lives in Flagstaff and so got to spend some time with him also. On Fathers day I flew into a fly-in at Garden Valley, ID. they had abut 100 aircraft there and a great breakfast. I just wanted you old timers like Spike and Troy know that I am still flying. Well I know Troy knows as he came out to a Cessna Straight tail 182 fly-in at U87 Smiley Creek Idaho last year and wrote a great article for the CESSNA FLYER magazine about the fly-in. Yes I am still going at 89 and not ready to quit soon.

Oh yea, we went to a flyin at Carey, ID. the 1st of June. Carey is over close to Sun Valley, ID. it was a good turnout. i don't have any pictures as my copilot took the pictures and they are all on her phone. Here is one a Garden Vallely fly in. My 182 B.

Congratulations, Bob, 90 here, quit flying as solo pilot a decade ago, but that is because my ears are bad. Communication inside the Washington DC air traffic control system is just not fun anymore.

If I were out in mid America, I would be flying basic med. Eyes are still 20/20 with glasses.
 
Congrats it’s always nice to hear stories of older pilots still flying in their 80s and 90s. Enjoy

Why don't you come out to Vale and a couple of old geezers will go flying in my old geezer airplane. I would love to do that. We don't have much traffic out here in the mountains.Smiley Creek 23 #1.jpg

I have a fly in at Smiley Creek, ID this coming week end for straight tail 182 airplanes. they voted last year to put my airplane on the T shirts.

Bob, traveling out to Vale and flying with you would be great. I have been out to Colorado Springs, and planned to go to Lake County, but the weather was having a non standard late summer, thunderstorms every day. Settled for cog rail up Pikes Peak, barely go t off before we had an inch of hail with heavy rain.

I have flown several straight tails, a 1960 Cessna 150, a Cessna 172 with no letter after 172, and a similar vintage 182. My check ride was in the 150.

When we complete all the issues from our recent move, I might start traveling again.
 
Hey Bob, I met you last year at Moose Creek on mother's day weekend. You were nice enough to leave a bottle of wine for all the mothers that were camping out that weekend. I'm happy to see you still running around!

BTW, none of us had a corkscrew. I had to resort to the old shoe-sole method of opening the wine but I got it done and all the wives spoke highly of you that whole evening. Fly safe!

Bob, it's great hearing from you again! Been many years since we met at Gastons! Great to see you're still flying, and I wish I could say the same!
