iPad Mini w/ Retina display delayed

I picked up an iPad air. While the screen is the same size as the previous generation "large" iPad, the physical package is decently smaller. It's like a "larger" iPad mini... :)

For those of you waiting for the Mini Retina, several articles over the past couple days that the release may be delayed by LCD burn in issues on IGZO displays from Sharp.

Well, that kinda throws a wrench in the works. Don't want to wait for ever on the new mini but I do not want the current one which is outdated already since it is an iPad2.

Patience is a virtue!

Good thing come to those who wait.

A stitch in time saves nine.

Then there are those of us nursing our first generation iPads along, waiting for an updated mini as a replacement. I've been waiting for this stupid thing since the spring.

I bought my mini this summer and have been happily enjoying it. I pay very little attention to these rumors when purchasing apple products.

I took advantage of the Target offer and have a $200 Target gift card burning a hole in my pocket to use towards a Mini Retina.

As someone pointed out, we're lucky to be burdened with "First World" problems such as production delays in gizmos.

I'm "iPad-less" for the moment, but have access to my wife's iPad2 if I need it and my 15" 2008 MacBook Pro still isn't exactly dog food, either!

This trade-in offer at Target--did it end on 11/9 or is it still available?

11/9 was the last day - I brought mine in around 3pm, and got the second to last gift card in the entire store! They had an entire shopping cart full of iPad 1's.

The mini retina is showing as for sale on the Apple site and shipping in 1-3 days for the wifi version or 5-10 for LTE. Guess no production delays or maybe just limited quantities at first :dunno:

Wish they could accept the Target gift card. Oh well.

This sounds like good news at least.

Yep!

Thanks for the head's up!

The Apple site shows them available, but the Target site has not been updated.

I may try to call them later about projected availability.

So, you'll let me get mine from Target first, right? :D

Link bait. There have been "production delay" stories for nearly every iDevice launch the last couple of years, and they haven't been true yet - But people gleefully pass them around and the sites that write them get a ton of hits, so they keep coming.
