How much does it cost (Roughly) to install an integrated 4 place intercom and PTT Switch?(pilot side only)

My best guess for something like this 20 hours labor plus parts.
 
Give Mark at Depot Avionics in Alamosa a call. Ya may as well get to know one of the better shops in the region.

Before you know it you're sneaking around viewing pilot porn on the Garmin website, hoping your wife doesn't catch you. :D
 
How it starts isn't as important as how it ends......and ending up with a great audio system makes life GREAT!

I had a 4-place PS Engineering PM1000ii installed in my Cardinal in June 2016 for $1,215. (not including the intercom which was around $350) Installation included 4 headset jacks, 2 audio input jacks, drilling both yokes to install 2 PTT switches, wiring, and labor.

The original quote was for 20 hours but they reduced it to 10 on the final bill since I removed/reinstalled the interior and headliner for them.
The quote I got for an audio panel/intercom was 40 hours.

@mscheuer can a owner / operator do a slide in replacement and sign it off on one of your radios? specifically SL15M to PMA7000BT?
 
I'm not Mark (whose stuff is the best, for a fact), but the answer is, "yes."
 
Major pain in the arse to install. I'd charge $100,000.
 
I recommend getting an intercom that has either (or both) an aux input or Bluetooth

Trust me - it seems kinda pointless until you try one with it. Then it seems essential

Well, I'm not speaking for Mark, but in our own respective arenas I admire his stuff and I hope he still likes mine. We've been in this business a hell of a long time together.

I've got one of them too.

It was really cool when I was doing some ground runs the other day, I have an amazon bluetooth adapter in the hangar to an amplifier for tunes, anyway I started the airplane and paired my phone to the 8000BT and rolled out to the ramp. When I rolled back up to the hangar and shutown the avionics my phone automatically linked back to the amazon adapter and the music was going before I even crawled out of the airplane.

I thought so too, but was advised by PS Engineering that I needed a logbook entry signed by an A&P...
 
I decided to be a good plane owner and cheap out. I got the Sportys Transcom Intercom and David Clark PTT with the wires all tucked away under the carpet. It works pretty nicely for now until I do a BIG panel overhaul in a couple years.

So long story short, I would need AP sign off. I thought the same was written in their manual, but wasn’t sure if it was for slide in replacement or not. I know a lot of people change gps with no sign off

I think there is a STRONG argument that the rule as written would cover you performing the slide in replacement. However, it’s not an exact model replacement and the mfr recommends an A&P sign off, so who knows how the FAA would interpret the rule if the swap ever came into question?

it’s such a simple swap I would be surprised if an A&P IA would charge anything to include the swap as part of an annual...
