I lived in Indiana for 5 years; it's a great state for flight training. I'm assuming you're talking about Upland, IN. I would reach out to Muncie Aviation http://www.muncieaviation.com/#!learn-to-fly/c1xvw. That's going to be your closest training location. I am not aware of active schools at Anderson or Marion, which are fairly close, too. There is one school still advertising at Marion, but their site looks dated.
A lot of schools in that area will also fly to your friend's location to provide the flight training. I worked at Purdue Aviation, LLC in Lafayette for two years, and we did that regularly. (765) 743-9692. Call during normal business hours and ask to speak to Jim, who can give you or your friend the details.
