Imagine the bandwidth this would require

True, but it is an interesting vision of what could be.

way beyond my ability to imagine. Someone has a huge mind and great imagination.

thanks for posting it

By then computers will use voice recognition. Fail.

Corning can imagine plenty. They only make the glass, not the circuitry that does all the stuff.

Brought to you by your friendly neighborhood stick in the mud.

Flexible Display Glass...those ******* stole my idea.

This whole vid is pie in the sky. What parallel uni is everyone well behaved and happy, the streets are clean, your coworkers look like models, and no traffic jams? AND, the guy is satisfied with a couple pecks on the cheek???

What happens to your pictures or work project when you spill your coffee?

Continuity editor gets a fail, too. When they went to bed it was on opposite sides from when they got up.

Some interesting ideas there, but you're correct, that universe was a bit unreal.

Made me think about some of the sci fi movies from way back, when they created those futuristic cities and everyone dressed in spandex-like costumes. Loved them, then. Love them now.

In such a world, looks like a lot of privacy is given up.

As for some of the other applications, we were discussing stuff along these lines yesterday- I've got a scientific meeting next month and both posters are scheduled at the same time, but may be in different locations.

We thought of hanging large touch-screen displays up so people can look at my references mentioned in the posters. We also discussed using 2 iPads and their cameras and linking the two (one at each poster). I could be at one poster and virtually at another poster; the person talks to my image. and I respond. i drew the line at having myself be represented by Max Headroom.

We'll probably just have one of the sales team be at the poster I'm not and using the same old rolled-up glossy paper.

Perhaps you assume too much. Perhaps he got up with his primary nocturnal unit (wife?) but went to bed with her twin sister who, it turns out, decorates her room with the exact furnishements but in reverse. This is, after all, the future.

Most of that wouldn't require much, if any, more bandwidth than today - But a lot of that is because most if it can already be done. Unfortunately, as far as being accessible to the general public and cost-effective, well... Not so much yet.
