If they only knew

Vintage... just doesn't have the same meaning with planes as it does with cars, boats, etc...

I call mine a classic because its a first year model that changed a lot from it's early version to become its more modern version, but even at it being 66 years old I don't see it as vintage...
 
I don't personally know the pilot but he's well known around here. He is based out of the airport to the north of me and I'm pretty sure he now owns the small training outfit that is at our airport.
 
The first Cirrus will become a Classic this year, and an antique in 5 years.

Isn't the pilot an airplane broker, used to be out of Peoria., ?
 
I dunno - I think a ‘58 Cessna 175 deserves the term vintage. It might have been well cared for, but the emergency landing suggests otherwise.
