My longtime employee 11 year bought my company 2 days ago. It feels strange after 12 years of owning my PA46 service shop to walk away. I could have done better by selling to other people that wanted it, but they wanted to make big changes I didn't like. This new ownership kept most of the crew and will continue the focus on the PA46 series. After raising my 3 home schooled kids at the airport and spending nearly days a week, it was sad to lock up that last time.

On to something new!

Stand by to get busier than you have ever been..

It's nice to sell something to someone who will appreciate it, and I'll bet your long time employee will appreciate it.

+2...

Good to have someone who knows the business, presumably knows the customers, and who you know won't make changes you won't like.

Congratulations and condolences, best wishes for the path ahead. Glad to hear that the specialty shop character will be maintained, there are apparently not enough folks around to do competent work on those planes.

So, where are you going to move to now. Have you found the 'not too warm but no snow place in the mountains on the ocean with culture AND libertarians nirwana' yet ?

I want to stay involved with the PA46 family maintenance. I will remain the owners association maint. advisor. I'm going back to doing the worldwide field maintenance, consulting, expert witness, on road pre-purchase type jobs. All of the things I like and haven't had the time to do for years. Oh, I forgot about the years of neglect that my home is suffering from too.

I need to spool down a bit first, then the search for a cooler/ wetter summer home base will start. How do the Maineiacs like their area.
