Here's what I want for my car, and can't find:
1.5 DIN
Bluetooth
Built in Hard Drive to play MP3/WMA/etc...
Touch screen controls

Everything I find is discontinued, or is a 2DIN, or only has a iCrap connector.

I've been looking for something similar but I'd prefer a USB flash drive to a spinning hard drive.

The 1.5 din is a big limit, I'm almost ready for a 1din and spacer. I haven't found any 0.5 din devices let alone one I want to pay for to fill the gap.

I also have an issue with the Bose speaker systems, I think they are oddball impedance and need some sort of adapter.

No solution but I will be following this thread.

Yep, 2004 Coupe. I did find a JVC one that lets you plug an portable HDD into it, but really don't want to have to run wires into the glove box, or anywhere else. Plus it is a single DIN

Less expensive than that $1500 custom mod you were quoted. My Google-Fu couldn't find any 1.5 DIN radios with touchscreen and the other features you wanted. Sounds like getting a panel mod to get to 2 DIN opens a lot of possibilities.
