Hello ppl, can anyone help me with this? I just purchased an used NCS812 and need the pinout to install on my aircraft and look the diagrams to see if I can fix the permanently open squech on the com side...

I appreciate any comment.

I'm pretty sure I've got an 812 installation manual. It's on another computer, will check back to see if anyone has posted soon. (I've got an 812 and a 12d I need to put up for sale, just not that savvy with the online selling routine.)

Thanks Focal Plane! will check for the pinouts and hope I can fix the squelch issue...
Both are great com/navs they will probably sell fast, they are in the 1500 range, some with indicator included as per what I saw on Ebay... I purchased mine with indicator for USD900. Kind regards and thanks a lot for the pdf!!!

The DME unit is on the back of the indicator, so if you purchase an NCS812, you're not getting the DME portion unless you get the indicator.

If my memory serves me correctly the Narco MK 12 came up on 122.5 open squelch when first turned on. The squelch was normal when switched to another freq.

121.5, but yes.

I really like my Mark 12D, it has superior COM section, but I think this design "feature" is boneheaded. You cannot monitor 121.5 on a 12D (or an NCS812, as it works out), without listening to constant background noise. No squelch.

Narco had a mod for that, but good luck trying to get a copy of the mod today.

The issue is for all com frequencies, not just 121.5, that wouldnt be a problem, I tried re-adjusting the squelch trim pot (tru the available lower case hole) but stills open, anyway, focal plane provided the manual, so hope I can wire the unit soon to my 172 radio rack.
I have the indicator with DME too... thanks folks!
