John was really gracious enough to fly up to Stillwater, OK this morning to give me a mooney ride! What a gorgious airplane he has too. I believe he said it was white and a corvette blue. It fit me lateraly like a 152 and long like a 172 but the power it has gives it something to brag about. We took off and headed west to play around for a bit. I tried some turns to get used to the slightly bigger and different airplane. The controls are a little heavier than I'm used to and it deffinitly loves to climb but it flies beautifuly once you get the hang of it. We flew a practice RNAV approach to stillwater which was fun. Landing is quite tricky but I believe I just need to learn to handle power a little better. With a little practice, I could be a mooney pilot too, hehe. John was very patient and trusting with me so I deffinitly appreciate that. He deffinitly seemed happy to be there and loved to fly which I thought was pretty cool.

Thanks and hats off to John for a pleasent mooney ride and great first impression!

Tristan

I forgot he just painted the plane. It used to be Amber I think that was a pretty color too. Johns a great pilot and a great guy just make sure you still have your wrist watch:rolleyes: . You're lucky I wanted to fly in that steed but alas he moved west to be with all the FAA big wigs.

Lucky you, Tristan!

In all seriousness though - looks like y'all had a blast, and John's got a good looking plane. Its just too bad he won't be at Gastons.

"John made a great first impression" ???

He must not have been feeling well. :)

Thanks for the post.

Well you're welcome to move down here too! Then we can all go flying! Haha!

And Jhon couldn't bother to stop to give me a ride on his way out to OK. Wow.. sniffel... I know where I rate. :(

no dont feel bad Missa, John lives in OKC now!

Awwww. It's true......no good deed goes unpunished. Yep, I made the pilgramage to the "other" big time university in Oklahoma to meet up with Ms. Tris. We had a nice flight in the Stillwater area and she did a fine job with an airplane that needs a little work to tame. Hopefully, she'll get another opportunity to fly the airplane at the end of March if I make it to Tony Condon's Glider-Rama-Fest-Ganza-Stock. Missa, I hope you get over your cold soon!
