Any guesses on who she is and the country gentleman on board? Note the Texas flag on the tail. :)

I have a few photos on my phone but they were too far away.

There were a LOT of birds showing up for this game. I have no clue who got slaughtered between the hogs and the cattle. The hogs came in on a chartered 737 among an equal number of both small piston and a lot of jets from a CE-500 up to a G-III. They kicked our Baron and a Navajo we care for out of our hangar to make room for the G-III.

Also, there was what I think was a Global Express or G-V. It was certainly big enough. The problem with being sure was it had a South Korean tail number. I searched Flight Aware for their designations but no cigar.

Contributing to the high traffic this weekend is some concert in town called "Austin City Limits."

:)

I know of an exec that has been known to make his corporate pilots fly him to College Station for games... for a distance 50 miles more than Austin-College Station. It's all for the alum to show off their planes to other alum.

Having listened to that argument from both sides of the table, the exec will counter with "it's my plane, and the only one I have. Most of the cost is from owning it, not flying it, and I don't want to fight the traffic. Anybody who thinks I should fly something else can kiss it here. What's the BFD?"

Technically, it's the company's plane. And the cost is borne by the company. Therefore both the plane and the cost are owned by the shareholders.... yep, the same ones who are being told to "kiss it here".

Sorta like those folks on Wall Street taking home the $100 million bonuses.

It is not an uncommon occurance for alumni to travel to these games! We take our owner to all the UT and Texas A+M games... (He graduated from Sam Houston, but one son went to UT, the other to A+M) Some times its the King Air, sometimes he goes in his G-II SP. Gov Perry is an A+M grad, so he shows up in the Texas State King Air.

The amount of hardware which shows up on a ramp during one of these games is even greater than the number of military jets which 'happen' to stop in during the AirForce/ Navy game, when it's held at the USAFA in COS. (Seems every general and admiral has a jet)

I landed in front of a jet at Saratoga WY. one time. The Jet was full of ENRON A**holes on a little R&R. This was a few months before the bottom fell out. Bot.

There is, however, a big difference whether it is a public company or a privately held company and also on how the individual companies set up their executive perks.

As for your first statement, I agree. Closely held and managed, up to owners/managers on how they spend money. Public is a different animal (in the case I mentioned, it was public).

Exec. perks, provided it's shareholder approved (public), is fine. Still a really expensive way to go 150 miles....
