How to ramp up your take-off skills

Even as I look at that man's pancaked deathtrap, I still think there's nothing more natural than the desire the fly and I want him to have succeeded.
 
Gotta hand it to him as he keeps on trying. Someone should donate an old ultrlight to him so he can realize his dream. Don

Exactly. When I didn't have the resources to fly a proper airplane I just looked up an dreamed. This dude built an airplane (and had the brains to remotely pilot it during testing!)
 
That Kenyan airplane looks safer than some Breezys I have seen. :D
 
Cool to see the replies to the second video. While some part of my laughed at the plane hitting the ramp, I also smiled and admired the guy for chasing his dream.

The first video was impressive, too. I assume this is much more fuel efficient and safer than a pure vertical take-off the plane is capable of?
 
I do admire the guys efforts, but I fail to understand why he's trying to completely reinvent the wheel, it's not as if it's impossible for him to get on the internet and get some good plans for how to build an airplane that will indeed fly.
 
His attempts are amusing, and I'm impressed by his persistence.

But such persistence reminds me of another. Don Quixote. He kept attacking those "giants" even as they beat the crap out of him.
 
The guy has huge balls and the will to fly.. One or the other will eventually kill him..

He could at least installed a vertical stabilizer /rudder..:confused::confused::dunno:

I was wondering about that myself, apparently there is a stovl variant:

"The F-35 family includes three variants – all single-seat jets: the F-35A conventional takeoff and landing (CTOL) variant, the F-35B short takeoff/vertical landing (STOVL) variant, and the F-35C carrier variant (CV)."

I guess the ramp makes the stovl takeoff even shorter.
 
After going back and looking at it again, I'm more impressed with his design. The exhaust is nicely angled back towards the pilot to provide heating while en-route and doubles as a sleep aid while on final. the uncovered open-frame design discourages rodents and means that this design is exempt from the new runup check: Remove all cats before flight.
 
Sooner or later,he will create a flying machine. He should work on the ramp at the same time.
 
Isn't it great that we live in a country where we don't have to ask permission from the government to use a runway? I mean at a few airports we have to ask for clearance from a local guy in the tower, but we don't have to get expressed written consent from a government agency.

I do admire this guy for his stick to itness..... I hope he succeeds...

Hmmmm...

Actually we do...

The FAA has to bless a solo cert.

And then a PP cert..

And we need a current medical cert...

And a BFR cert ....

All are government requirements needed to fly in the good ol U.S.A..

But.... I see your point...:yes:;)
