Stupid thread I know, but I have always pronounced it as Puh-lattice. Is this correct?

Maybe I need to post on their Facebook page and ask hahaha

I used to work for a Pilatus dealer. Everyone there pronounced it "Puh-lattice" We did have one guy who insisted on pronouncing it "Pilot-us"

*sigh*
Pee-lah-tus. Just like you'd pronounce it in Europia. No 'murcan pronunciation allowed.
Though most local jocks call it "Pah-lettuce".

Would you say it is 1/2 as good as a king air?
More like 3/4 - 7/8's as good depending on model vs model. If I was to spend that kind of $$$ (not that I could) I'd want 2 engines.
It's rare but those pt6a's do occasionally shut down.
ID prefer to think I could handle a OEI over hoping my pt6 didn't hick up 150' after rotation at an urban airport.

I agree except the "u" in "tus"probably sounds more like oo in boot instead of the u in up. Of course, many German speaking companies just give up and accept the Americanization of their brand names. For example, Löwenbrau (Lowenbrow) beer should be pronounced Lurvenbroy.

Yes, technically it sounds like "oo".

Pee la TOOS

For what I do, the PC12 kicks the KAs butt all day.

From the cabin to the door, that's a game change, plus the modern touches and trailing link gear and massive flaps and cruise, she'll haul butt up in the flight levels with full climate control and still easily get down on any strip you'd take most 182s

Well, you happen to know that because you are edumacated. 99% of 'murcans have no freaking clue how to pronounce forun names right. :)
Heck, I have been recently corrected on how to pronounce "Waco". Us Texans, we have a big handicap, we have a town of Waco [Wake-oh] here. Many of us don't know that the correct pronunciation is [Wacko]. So I am no better than the 99%. Ouch! :D

And lots of euro folks can't pronounce many American towns ;)

The correct pronunciation of the city in Texas is "wacko," too. Just, the locals don't know it.

It's much bigger than a town, though you might not know it from talking to the locals.

You want fun? Ask a New Yorker how to pronounce "Houston."

Can't put floats on it , that makes it an expensive useless airplane. Pilatus is Latin for "pay up sucka"

Maybe I'm "edumacated" but I know that because I worked in country for 9 years on the economy (not DOD) secunded to a German company. Actually, I have lived so many places that I don't know how to talk anymore.

Yes, yes it does.

Carries as much as a KA 200 on less fuel and only about 10-15 knots slower.

Lot of companies ditching the KA and going with the PC12.

And I have always pronounced it, PIE lattuce, but I grew up in Texas....
