I'd like to do a sightseeing flight around Anacapa and Santa Cruz Islands at 4500 MSL. They are off the coast of Oxnard (KOXR) and Santa Barbara (KSBA) airports. The islands are within Warning Areas W-289E, W-289W and W-412. The Sectional indicates that pilots can find out whether the Warning Areas are active by contacting LA Center on 132.15 or PleadControl on 132.425. But I'd like to be able to find out the status of the Warning Areas before taking off from my home airport, Santa Monica (KSMO). Is there any way to do that? (I've looked for, but haven't found, a telephone number to call.)

I would also like to know the answer. Not sure why you are PMing him?
I didn't want a bot to slurp up a phone number off of a post and start calling a control room offering an extended car warranty.
