Can anyone recommend a flight school in the Anchorage area for taking a professhional pilot program?

How would you go about choosing a flight school to take a professional pilot program? What's the best way to decide what is the right school to choose? I'm looking for a flight school in the Anchorage area.

If I were you, I'd look for one that is lenient on spelling errors.

That is a really broad question. The most important thing will be the fit between you and your instructor. So a school that will assign an instructor you will primarily work with is important.

I would also avoid those who want all your money up front. I would avoid those with an emphasis on cranking out people for the airlines, domestic or foreign.

Convenience of access will also be important since you will be making a lot of trips there.

If you say where you are located, some members will likely be local and can give you concrete input.

Merrill Field has several flight schools: http://www.muni.org/Departments/merrill_field/Pages/Flight-Schools.aspx. Land and Sea (https://landandseaaviationalaska.com) and Angel Aviation (http://ak.angelaviation.com) are the two biggest.

Depending on where exactly you live in the ANC area, there are also airports in Chugiak (Birchwood), Palmer, Wasilla, Girdwood, Lake Hood Strip, with options there too... even if your goal is to be a professional, you start with the Private, and can do that anywhere (even gravel).

Also our university (UAA) has a collegiate aviation program, if you're of a student persuasion.
