Rob Schaffer
Cleared for Takeoff
This past weekend the weather was clearing up nicely and after all the show shoveling we did the past few weeks, it was time to get out flying! Saturday was my wife's birthday, so I couldn't attend the NE Flyer's event, but Sunday afternoon looked fantastic ===> CAVU !
As many of you know, Bob Ciotti (rmciottijr) owns a C172H at Wings that I have been flying since last June. I texted him letting him know I was going to take the plane up, and he replied back asking what time. I arrived at the airport about 3pm with my two daughters Allison and Isabella, so we could go for an hour flight and continue the breakin period on the two new cylinders that were just replaced.
As I was preflighting, Bob arrived with his daughter Mackenzie. She loves playing with my daughters and we have gone to the Zoo in the past together, shoveled out the parking ramp together, etc. So, to keep the girls out of the wind, they were inside the plane while I was preflighting and chatting with Bob. Finally, everything looked great and it was time to depart,... but Mackenzie didn't like the fact that she couldn't stay with the girls in the plane and go flying. Bob asked her to get out of the plane so I could go flying with the girls,... and she got all upset that she wasn't able to go.
This video explains it much better than I can in words.....
BTW, we had a good flight, the girls napped, and I enjoyed buring some AvGas on a day like this. More photos and info on my blog at http://flyingrob.blogspot.com
