I can log into the Faa site with my cert number, but if I search for myself I don’t show up.

Probably cause you denounced Tesla. Automatic removal of cert.

The FBI would call this a clue.....

Are you entering a state? If you do, but you have your address suppressed, it will not find you (because that field would be blank).

I must have asked to hide my address at some point. If I put in my name and birthdate only then I come up. Just name - nope. Any address info - nope.

You can check a box in there somewhere to have your info withheld, did you do that?

Ah, ok. It wasn’t that I wasn’t coming up with no birthday, just that there were too many hits so it showed none. If I put my full name in with middle name and nothing else, then I’m one of the results.

I had a case lately where the airman who crashed my Arrow was removed for a while...then again he was an FAA employee...not long after an addressing the issue he showed back up but the address was removed...have know idea if it was a glitch in the system or done on purpose...but multiple searches from multiple devices and individuals failed to show his information for ten days or so starting three days after the incident.

Are you a pilot, or have you just been pulling our leg this whole time? ;)

This is that opportunity that people dream about. Being able to disappear is difficult but you seem to have the beginning figured out. Then again, if you were to violate airspace or have an incident, I'll bet you the cost of my next annual that the FAA knows exactly where you are!

That is one of the benefits of having an unusual last name! All I have to type in is my last name, and boom, I'm the only one in there.

Your signature probably didn't match exactly with something else, like your drivers license, so they purged you

He probably did, but that won't stop the FAA from illegally disseminating his personal information. All it does is delete the mailing address.
What it will do is block any search that involves a component of the address (notably the State name or USA for the country) from matching him.

It’s like showing up for work one morning and finding that your employee badge doesn’t work on the door...

You spelled your name wrong in the search. Spell it like the FAA spells it.

I had the opposite experience. I showed up at the Army facility I hadn't worked at in years. I was chatting up with the security guard while waiting for my escort to show up and it came to my realization he thought I still worked there (even though I wasn't wearing the required badge or anything). So I just went down to find my former coworker.

I have a very unique last name too but there are 6 of us in the database these days. I was surprised.

yup....there are 9 of me. And I have one of those weird Hungarian names.

Glitch in the matrix. Call the friendly people at the FAA and see what’s up.

I noticed this today at work. An airman won’t show up on the external side but will on the internal side. It’s odd and doesn’t make any sense. I’m assuming it’s a glitch.

Time warp resulting from the recent change from DST. If your body clock is 180 degrees out of phase with respect to the FAA server's clock you disappear. Should resovle itself once we go back to DST in a few months.

I don’t think it’s a glitch. I think it’s due to the option for an individual to block his address from public view. Any field associated with an address in the database is therefore restricted when searching that name.

Correct you are. Based on electing the option to hide your address.
