Hello Everyone,

I have posted here in the past.
Long story short, I have been monitored with a HIMS AME for a DUI for over 15 months.
Did everything from IOP, aftercare, continued aftercare, HIMS psychiatrist evaluation, follow up HIM Psychiatrist evaluation, COG Screening, 300+ AA Meetings, etc., etc...
1900 negative soberlink test, negative PETH Tests, negative ETG Tests, Negative 10 panel drug test.
All three HIMS doctors: AME, HIMS psychiatrist, HIMS neuropsychologist gave me a diagnosis of abuse.
HIMS AME submitted all the reports with all favorite comments over 7 months ago. Not a word from the FAA.
My HIMS AME has followed up with them several times and they are telling him that its with the physician.
Anyone have any insight on how long it's taking for them to actually review the final final.
MED Express shows it's in review and it has been that way for over 7 months now.

Based on my experience, 12+ months. It may be longer, because at the end, the two years from my initial AME exam was running out so they sent a letter saying I needed a new one. It was about 2 months from that exam that I finally got my next letter from FAA.

Thank you. I am at 15 months. I got a final letter 9 months ago stating:
For SI consideration, please submit your COG screening report, your updated HIM Psychiatrist Report, a new HIMS AME report.
This was all submitted along with a new medical application and a HIMS AME report along with check list 7 months ago.
I would expect to hear something by now.
 
contacting your senator or representatives office has helped multiple people get an answer of the status of their file when the faa plays this game.

Thank you. Do you think they might retaliate? I have done everything they asked for plus more. My last letter was 9 months ago.
I submitted everything they wanted over 7 months ago and it is in stall mode on Med Express. Now my HIMS AME stated to me that the FAA will not allow the HIMS AME to talk to the doctor of the day any longer. This is seems irrational.

I don’t think they’ll retaliate. But when you fill out the form for the congressional inquiry just keep in mind the faa gets a copy of what you write in it.

Thank you. That's good to know. Mainly I was going to outline my timeline and what I have accomplished. I am pushing 16-17 months and have been 100% compliant. This is just frustrating.
 
I know someone that once they submitted their entire package for an SI to the FAA they held it for 20 months before issuing a denial. They are absolutely out of control and have a tantrum when someone doesn’t follow their rules. Of course the faa routinely ignores their own rules and regulations whenever they want.
 
A congressional will not get a decision changed, they'll defer to the Agency.

However, what it will do is get it looked at by adults. Sometimes things like this get "mis-placed". For example, in a different agency, I've seen things in queue for an analyst that went out on long-term leave or retired. It's not rare, and they can get off a track to completion fairly easy. A letter from your congressional office can get it back on track.

Mostly though, they just suk and are very tolerant of ridiculously long wait times. Bureaucrats don't care.

Thank you. I was not looking for a decision change.
I got a letter over 9 months ago stating: For SI Consideration, please submit:

1. Cog screening results.
2. Updated HIMS psychiatrist report.
3. New HIMS AME report.

All this was sent over 7 months ago. The file went to "under review" over 7 months ago. My HIMS AME has followed up several times, they just keep saying it's with the physician. I am not sure if this positive or just a common statement. There is literally nothing they are missing.
 
They will probably make you get another updated report from your HIMS ame and HIMS psych most likely since the info you sent them is now dated.

That's crazy. I did that from the first letter. The first phsyc report was almost a year old and that is why they requested that.
I also have been seeing my HIMS AME every 3 months with reports from him sent it. With them not responding on time, it's a never ending cycle.
 
Yup. It’s a pretty ****ed up process that nobody should have to go thru and it’s all created as a direct result of faa incompetence. If you request your “applicant notes” from faa records dept it will give you an outline of where your file has been and who currently has it. You’ll have a name instead of them just telling you it’s with a random doctor

Thank you. I did that today. I have a FED-EX account. So I should have that pretty fast.

Months ago, I was told the same thing. I already have my Blue Ribbon file. I requested specifically my applicant notes and since I have a FED-EX account, it arrived a few days later. You might consider just asking for your applicant notes. I don't need my full file.
