The Atis Freq is 112.2 which is in the NAv range and I have not figured out how to tune it in. Please help

Equipment G1000

I have tried without luck. Anything more specific to my system?

I know this kind of sounds dumb. Just having problems with it.

I have to a small extent. I have taken a online g1000 course etc. Just alot to learn. I always forget about KLOU until I go up there.

Tune the VOR frequency into Nav1, and push Nav1 on the audio panel. (Did you miss that second step by chance?)

If you were an instructor, you'd know how common it is for folks to be confused by an ATIS over a VOR. Half the time they sit there trying to dial the comm freq down below 118.0, and the other half tune it properly in the nav radio but don't hit the NAV1 button/switch on the audio panel, and sit there wondering why they aren't hearing the ATIS in their headset. That, or they don't turn the nav volume up, which is why I teach folks to leave the nav volumes up, and just select/deselect them as needed on the audio panel.

For real fun, see what happens when they find an ATIS on frequency "345," especially if they've never seen an ADF before!

Another reason to leave that boat anchor in the panel. Besides using it for listening to ball games when flying across the state. :D

Blows me away how many people have never seen an ADF or used an NDB.

go to the WPT (waypoint group) on the G1000 MFD. Press the WX button... problem solved...

Honestly? I'd be one of the confused people for awhile, but I'm pretty sure I'd remember... eventually:redface:

Thanks for the refresher!
