About five years ago, the hospital widowed my mother in law. She's gotten over the loss to the extent that she would like to start dating again. She's a senior citizen, 75, and lives in Livermore, CA. When she was a banker, she often took trips by air in light GA aircraft, and doesn't seem to have a problem with small planes.
She's tried a few dating sites, but so far, no joy (literally). She wants a guy who's healthy, and has a few pennies to his name, along with a tolerable disposition. The guys she's met online seem not to meet those criteria, or are geographically undesirable.
I got to thinking, and active pilots are by definition healthy (as far as the FAA is concerned), and flying is not for the penurious. I don't think rash pilots survive all that long, either. I ran the idea by my wife, and she likes the idea.
I looked at pilot dating sites, and they seem to either be scams or for airline pilots, crew, or ground support. We went to the KLVK airport days in Sept., and she had about as good a time as I did.
So, I was wondering if there are any KLVK denizens lurking on this site who know where pilots congregate so my wife and I could take my M-I-L so we can get to know them better? I know KLVK has an EAA chapter, so we could start there. (I am an EAA member, and our second home is in the area. We live about an hour away from her in Silicon Valley.)
