About five years ago, the hospital widowed my mother in law. She's gotten over the loss to the extent that she would like to start dating again. She's a senior citizen, 75, and lives in Livermore, CA. When she was a banker, she often took trips by air in light GA aircraft, and doesn't seem to have a problem with small planes.

She's tried a few dating sites, but so far, no joy (literally). She wants a guy who's healthy, and has a few pennies to his name, along with a tolerable disposition. The guys she's met online seem not to meet those criteria, or are geographically undesirable.

I got to thinking, and active pilots are by definition healthy (as far as the FAA is concerned), and flying is not for the penurious. I don't think rash pilots survive all that long, either. I ran the idea by my wife, and she likes the idea.

I looked at pilot dating sites, and they seem to either be scams or for airline pilots, crew, or ground support. We went to the KLVK airport days in Sept., and she had about as good a time as I did.

So, I was wondering if there are any KLVK denizens lurking on this site who know where pilots congregate so my wife and I could take my M-I-L so we can get to know them better? I know KLVK has an EAA chapter, so we could start there. (I am an EAA member, and our second home is in the area. We live about an hour away from her in Silicon Valley.)

Of course! The first marriage is for love, the second is for money!

Shouldn’t be too hard to find a rich ol’ codger. The problem will be finding one that’s into a woman their age.

can she cook? I'm hungry!

Actually, it took her three tries to get it right, and ended up marrying for love, but it didn't hurt he was a VP of a large country wide bank.

Tired of her hanging out at your house? Alcohol helps :D

Actually, she's good company, and my favorite mother in law.

Pictures may be helpful.
She used to be a model, lo these many years ago.IMG_0975.JPG

The mere thought of that hadn't even begun to percolate into the first brain cell, but I wouldn't complain if it worked out that way. Actually, I expect that if anything did come of this, there would be a pre-nuptial agreement so his blood descendants would get his estate, including any plane.

I'm tellin ya...million dollar idea...www.PilotMingle.com - "Four wheeler folk just don't get it"
Will be easy to make the website too. No need for a bio section, what more do they need to know beyond “pilot”?

Unfortunately, she's got a demographic challenge in finding a new (old) man. There are many more widows than widowers. In her age range there are almost 25 percent more women than men.

On the plus side, she's still interested whereas lots of women her age aren't. I know my mother wasn't.

Yes, I knew there would be more widows than widowers, and am surprised the numbers are that good.
She had a great relationship with her most recent husband, it was love at first dance, it lasted the rest of his life. (Reminds me of a country-western song). Now, she mostly just wants to have some men friends to season all the girlfriends she has. If something blossoms, then that's all to the better.

Two thoughts. Both subject to a warning or a ban.

1) Current pictures only
2) Should this be in the classifieds or Craig's List

I'm DQ'ed - Not all that much money, I endeavor to fly under a bridge at least once a year, and I even annoy my dog. And she's a Lab.

Have her email Patty Wagstaff. Patty is pushing up against 70 now, I believe. Maybe the two of them could go aero-cruising and pick up guys. Patty might be looking for a wingman (wingwoman?).
