This photo was taken in 1972 or 1973 at LGKM (now defunct), in Greece. It's my uncle Ted, holding me while standing on the strut of what? Any help will be appreciated.

It's a high-wing tail-dragger, but what is it? My first guess was Statiowagon, but the engine cowling and propeller look too big for an 185. For what it's worth, this airplane was a Greek Air Force trainer.

Yup, looks like an early model Cessna 180.

Right side exhaust wouldn’t be early model. The diagonal brace on the oil cooler is going opposite of mine, but otherwise very familiar.

It appears to me, using the 180 books that I have, that the exhaust went to the right in ‘58. Off the top of my head I thought it was later than that. I still favor the picture being a 180. Spinner, small diameter exhaust, but it could be a 185. The fuel pump cooling scoop and cowl flaps would indicate for sure but the photo quality isn’t good.

Here’s one on the web that I found. Looks pretty well the same to me and the exhaust is on the right.

1953 Skywagon

Probably converted to a newer engine and larger diameter exhaust. Common.

Just providing info. I’ve had a 180 for 25 years and have lots of friends with them. I observe well.
