Re: David Carradine Died Today

Hey, that's kinda sad. He was relatively young, too. I saw him at an astronaut autograph show a few years back. RIP grasshopper.

Re: David Carradine Died Today

I like him and his brother who did a show on the history channel together called "Wild West Tech". Well, they did different episodes. Too bad. His brother Keith played Wild Bill Hickock in the HBO series "Deadwood".

Edit: Just heard that this was an "apparent suicide" and that he hung himself in his hotel room. They also said that he spoke about suicide in the past.

That is sad, I hope he finds the piece he is looking for.

I think he was fighting cancer and in "deep despair". I liked his sense of humor. RIP indeed.

From the first reports of police comments, autoerotic asphyxiation gone too far.

Looks like it is not suicide

BANGKOK — The body of American actor David Carradine, best known for the 1970s TV series "Kung Fu," was found in a hotel room closet with a rope tied to his neck and genitals, and his death may have been caused by accidental suffocation, Thai police said Friday.
The 72-year-old actor's body was discovered Thursday in his luxury suite at Bangkok's Swissotel Nai Lert Park Hotel. Police initially said they suspected suicide, though Carradine's associates had questioned that theory.
Police Lt. Gen. Worapong Chewprecha told reporters that Carradine was found with a rope tied around his genitals and another rope around his neck.
"The two ropes were tied together," he said. "It is unclear whether he committed suicide or not or he died of suffocation or heart failure."

How the hell did this ever get to be considered a good idea?

"I'm going to choke myself until I get off. I bet that will feel good."

That is really sad if it was accidental. Sad no matter how or why it happened. I watched Kung Fu every week when it was on. The guy actually had a long and very good acting career.

Well, as pilots we know that lack of O2 makes people high (similar to boozes or drugs?). Maybe it's the same idea once you get past the struggling part of it.

I guess I'm just really that square.

It probably feels sort of like "doing Whip-Its" (inhaling pressurized nitrous oxide), such as from a can of whipped cream). Makes you light-headed and giddy. I guess it enhances sexual arousal for some people.

I can think of uses for canned whip cream during sex, but inhaling the gas is not one of them. :D
And choking yourself? I'm a "live and let live" kinda guy, but that seems crazy to me. I don't see how anyone can be into this particular "kink", especially if they are going to do it alone, and think they will stay safe. Many people have died doing this. :nonod:
