First saw and appreciated his style of humor on SCTV. Though autoimmune diseases are not amusing, nor is death, he'd hopefully see the apropos humor of one of his old SCTV skits:

I just read that while I was out at lunch

They had a "making of Caddyshack" documentary type thing on TV just a couple weeks ago that I watched. He seemed to be a very likeable guy, was always laughing.
