After fighting database manager for hours (including several uninstalls and reinstalls) due to complete lockup of the user interface, I finally figured out the database manager’s problem. (Hint- never use a network drive for temporary database location if that drive can be unmounted because a full uninstall/reinstall won’t fix that problem)
Now I have my database successfully installed on several SD cards of different sizes from 8 to 32 GB (per garmin’s affinity for obsolete technology). All formatted as FAT32. However my new GTR 205x just throws up the “database not unlocked for this device” error. It see the database on the card in the STDBY menu and has the correct dates, but won’t install either automatically or manually. I have double and triple checked that the id numbers on the unit and database manager match.
Any ideas from garmin aficionados?
