2 fatalities, on approach to land. Weather was darn near perfect today with light wind and scattered clouds at 25k. Sad news. I have a ton of landings here so it is hard to figure what went wrong on a day like today.

They have released the names, I heard them on the radio just a short time ago. It is the plane owner, Todd Parfitt age 50 and his 14 year old daughter, Nicole. Both are from a town called Antioch.

Any fatality is tragic, but even more so when someone so young is among the dead...

Ah, that sucks... from the video and first responder description, it sure screams "classic stall spin scenario." Very sad outcome; sorry for your work associate's loss, Leslie... the young lady is beautiful, and it looks like she and her papa were just out enjoying a nice day together.

Man, this one makes me ill.

Whenever I hear about a crash, I can often envision the circumstances or errors that may have been made, and make myself feel better that that would never be me. I would never get myself into that situation, or do something foolish or dangerous.

This one, on a beautiful VFR day, with a beautiful daughter, is the type of flying that I love to do.

This one will be one of the tougher ones to explain to our loved ones who are already nervous about the risks of flying.
