Grumman Down near Burlington, WI

The fatalities are family members of one of my work colleagues.

The weather was mild on Sunday.

Crap.

Yikes - Wonder what happened. I was just there the other day to fuel up, their prices are generally some of the best in the area ($4.69/gal when I was there on Thursday) so it's a fairly popular place to go.

Sad to hear that Leslie... :(

Always bad to hear of an accident, worse when you know the family.

Same, it's a great airport without any real obstructions around. =/ Thoughts with the family.

Any fatality is tragic, but even more so when someone so young is among the dead...

Ah, that sucks... from the video and first responder description, it sure screams "classic stall spin scenario." Very sad outcome; sorry for your work associate's loss, Leslie... the young lady is beautiful, and it looks like she and her papa were just out enjoying a nice day together.

Man, this one makes me ill.

Whenever I hear about a crash, I can often envision the circumstances or errors that may have been made, and make myself feel better that that would never be me. I would never get myself into that situation, or do something foolish or dangerous.

This one, on a beautiful VFR day, with a beautiful daughter, is the type of flying that I love to do.

This one will be one of the tougher ones to explain to our loved ones who are already nervous about the risks of flying.
