Grove Field.....Camas WA

There is a recent thread here on Grove......rather than hijacking that thread, here is my recollection.

Old man "Grove" was a mechanic............forever. He did it all, engines, fabric, complete rebuilds, and overhauls.

Trouble was, after he died the FAA found out he NEVER HAD a mechanics certificate. The FAA was so ****ed that they somehow took the name "Grove" off the airport. But there was such a local uproar the FAA allowed the name back...as it is today.

He worked on my Super Cub.
