Gilligan's Mary ann caught with dope!

In that case shouldn't she have been named Mary Jane?????

She was smiling in her mug shot. Maybe she was high at the time.

Though with my luck, a recent Mug shot of Ginger might just look like Nick Nolte.

I always thought that too, though if you saw her mug shot, you may want to think twice about Ginger!

DOH -- YOU'RE KILLING ME! YOU'VE KILLED ME!

Until I looked at that mugshot she was good old Mary Ann, the farmer's daughter, smokin' hot in a girl-next-door, clingy-halter top kinda way. Now she's old hag Mary Ann with a Joker grin!!! I'll have nightmares tonight.:hairraise::hairraise:

I'm not sure what Richard posted in post #13, as I can't see a picture. However, if he posted a current pic of Ginger, I'd like to keep it invisible to me, and just remember Ginger the way I remember her in the 1970s - as a movie star!

So out of curiosity I found...

I think Ginger wins this round.

A difference between men and women. I just don't care what they look like now.

Dunno, a number of men who posted here were also curious...

Looking back, when I was a kid watching Gilligan I couldn't really relate to either Ginger (too glamorous) or Mary Ann (too goody-goody). :dunno:

Johnny B, a Chicago radio personality was reminiscing yesterday about watching Gilligan's Island when he was a kid. A few years ago he was in a TV show with Ginger and had a scene where he had to kiss her. He spoke of how he idolized her as a kid but when it came time to do the scene he was really conflicted over the fantasy and the reality.

BTW his, Johnny B's, cousin in Tony Shaloub

Also why isn't anyone mentioning Mrs. Howell??
Hooking up with her and you would live in luxury and inherit the whole estate in the very near future!

I can see what you are saying here. A few years ago I had the opportunity to meet an actor who I had idolized as a kid. The reality was much different than the fantasy...

Isn't that what makes TV work. People are people, It's the hype that makes them a star. Well and the makeup!

Dan

People are people
That is exactly true. I sometimes meet (and fly) somewhat well-known people. Some are fairly true to their public personalities, some are not. But they are all people just like everyone else.

Oh no. It's all nonsense, believe me.
I had no idea how much nonsense it all
was -- but nonsense it all is...

The fame thing isn't really real, you
know. Don't forget -- I'm also just a
girl. Standing in front of a boy.
Asking him to love her.

That's assuming you don't gouge your own eyes out first.
