Gatlinburg, TN accident

Reportedly four people were onboard ... there's more to this story!

None were hurt ... yet.

What in the world? How’s that even happen?

Carb ice.
:D

Several possibilities - brake failure, blown tire, control cable failure, engine stoppage on one side, avoiding a stray cat, stoned pilot, spider in the cockpit,...

Iirc the hangars are quite a way from the runway.... Quite a wild ride

Engines should be near idle on landing... that wouldn't create much yaw.

I could definitely see this happening at Vmc on takeoff if you have a sudden engine failure and don't cut in time.

Reminds me of this one where the pilots inadvertently shut off their last available hydraulic pump.

Were any planes inside the hangar damaged?

(I can envision Avemco making a "Farmers" style commercial out of this one. Maybe @SixPapaCharlie could help....)

Didn't chock the wheels in the hangar.

Admit, got a chuckle out of this post, as I put the airplane away today after a quick flight and chocked it reflexively, as I always do. Old habits die hard lol.

looks like there's a pretty steep drop-off on the other side if he had gone all the way through. which would make this a cliff hangar...............

It was a POA event where a twin I was in blew and tire and wound up in a ditch. Apparently it can happen.
