Can someone help me out here? I'm thinking about purchasing the Virb to start recording my flights & lessons and really like that it can record speed and altitude as these are items I would like to review for instrument lessons. I was just comparing the Aviation Bundle to purchasing items separately and it appears that I can get everything separately cheaper. Can someone let me know if I am missing something (or if you have any experience with the virb elite)?

From the Garmin Website "In the Box" section the following are the extras you get in the Aviation Bundle along with prices I added

Headset audio cable $25 Prop filter $50 Suction cup mount $23 Garmin Pilot™ 6 month subscription 0 16 GB Class 10 SD™ card $15


The bundle is $430, and purchased separately everything adds up to ~$380. I use Foreflight so I did not put any value on Garmin Pilot.

Am I missing something here?

The only thing I see is the Garmin Pilot 6 month subscription seems to be valued at 0. What does that mean? Is it free regardless? I only got a 30day free.

It's not free, I just did not put any value on Garmin Pilot since I already have a Foreflight subscription. Although I guess I could cancel FF, and switch to Garmin Pilot for 6 months (and value Pilot at 1/2 an annual subscription of FF), but FF works just fine for me so I don't really feel like switching.
 
I've had a Virb Elite since they were released. I like it better then my GoPros but it isn't perfect. The Prop Filter is the best ND solution I've found for the Virb. Other than that I wouldn't use anything in the "bundle".

Well, there is the difference in pricing. You didn't assign the Garmin Pilot subscription into the Package rate.

Personally I use Garmin Pilot now. First off the interface is the same as the GTN interface, which keeps the fumbling down to a minimum. Second it allows me to connect with Airstream 201 equipped planes to interface there. Also finally, the SVT function works on the iPhone 6+ and I have found it to be the perfect size to clip to the glare shield for heads up type display which is really nice when it's hazy out.
 
Where is someone selling the audio cable for $25? That's what it costs me to make ours, so someones running at a loss.
 
Hahahaha, that guy just doesn't get the hint. Thanks for letting me know. Buyer beware.
