Garmin Pilot issues

I am new to Garmin Pilot, just started recently testing it.
When I look at TFRs (stadium TFRs to be specific) they all appear as active with the note "active until further notice" which is not real data and I would call it (BS). When you actually crosscheck with ForeFlight it will display only the actual active stadium TFR with the time frame when is active or when is expected to be active. (FAA source confirms the same).

Any thoughts about it? I have research google about it and I found few articles about it when some people were giving credit to Garmin for displaying TFR and how it saved their life (and the picture was attached with screen shoot) and most likely it was BS information and TFR wasn't actually active.

Garmin needs to step up to it but I was wondering if anyone would have different interpretation of that future.

Garmin just shows all possible stadium TFRs, unlike foreflight who tries to figure each one out down to the time. Perhaps some liability concerns? Or data concerns?

Garmin shows the locations of the stadium TFRs. If you click/touch on them you'll get the FAA TFR text that tells you the pilot is responsible for finding out if they are active or not.

I don't think there are any FAA sources that give you that info.

I think Foreflight pays someone to watch ESPN all day, every day, to mark the active times and locations.

That's where ForeFlight gets their info. Once of the reason of this topic on the forum since I couldn't find anyone pointing that out when promoting Garmin. I mean Garmin is great tool and ForeFlight might have little too much which at the end depends what kind of pilot you are. Even when you are on IFR flight plan ATC might vector you around TFR so it's a good idea to know in advance about their active time without leaving FAA approved app for Part 91 flying.

Skyvector does a good job showing the teams playing and game time by hovering over the TFR.

Garmin Pilot has issues with data, including map data, airport data, and navigation data. The last time I demoed it was about a year ago, and some data had improved over a year prior, but there were still too many errors for me to rely on it even for chart accuracy. I also noticed the TFR discrepancy between Pilot and FF at that time.

You're supposed to get a briefing which will tell you exactly what TFRs you are in for. Garmin most likely doesn't list them because they don't want liability coming back on them. There is a thread here from a couple weeks ago where a dude got intercepted and busted for following what Foreflight was displaying. The judge ruled that it is not an accepted way of getting the information. Considering that guy's attitude, he'll likely be suing Foreflight.

I would wager they scrape the same. Stadium TFRs don't show up in NAIMES.

When I look in the LA area now I see a bunch of yellow upcoming TFRs (going active >24 hrs from now) both for events that qualify for the Stadium TFR, and well as a few smaller VIP TFRs... they're not huge Presidential TFRs, so maybe Biden is going to be in town?

For Stadium TFRs ForeFlight includes the scheduled start time in the title, ie; "Dodger Stadium TFR (Rockies at Dodgers, Sep 15 19:10PDT)" and projected duration, along with additional information when you tap the entry. That includes the important caveat that the pilot should confirm that there are no schedule changes that might affect the valid time of the TFR.

IMHO it's complete BS that the FAA issued the Stadium TFR but doesn't provide the location, shapes, and schedules for qualifying sporting events. But at least these apps are helping out.
