Garmin 330 wont show altitude on G5

My avionics guy was saying that he was having trouble getting my G5 to contact my encoder and show altitude. It will only read GPS altitude and wont get anything from my Garmin 330 transponder. Any ideas? I have a GOD29B and a GMU11 along with a GNC 355

The G5 gets altitude from its static port, not the 330.

Are you sure you didn't misunderstand what they meant? You can use a G5 as the encoder and provide the 330 pressure altitude via an ARINC429 Airdata feed from the GAD29... but like Jesse said, the G5 reads it's own static port for altitude info and doesn't take that data in from anywhere else.
