Holy cow so I watched the first episode of GoT last night to see why this show is so popular. It was like watching a really gory and graphic porno! Both my fiancée and I were like "wtf is this!"

Guess that's what you get from HBO. Anyways...don't think I'll be watching anymore of that show lol.

Anybody here watch the show? Is every episode like this?

The porn aspect comes and goes but they always try to titilate the audience. The gore is in every episode and every now and then some violence is added.

Wow, sounds like my kind of show! :D I've heard it was pretty good. I added it to my watch list on Netflix awhile back but it was a lower priority than some other things. Need to move it up. Recently started Black Sails which is so-so.

I don't necessarily mind the gore or nudity but the sexual violence I don't care for.

I started laughing when there was some doggy style popping up on the TV. I was like is this really necessary lol?

Hey!!! What's wrong with doggy style?!

Maybe it was Amazon. I know it's on one of the online streaming services that we use.

I looked because I checked Amazon and Netflix and Hulu and none of them had it. Had to use HBO streaming

The first two seasons seem a bit more porny than the rest but it tames down after the first imo. Once the dothraki part fades out of the story

Wow. I will need to double check. I could have sworn I added it to something.

It is very possible it was on one of the other streaming apps and they took it off.

There is an app called VideoAngel that actually allows you to filter certain parts out. My fiancée and I might watch it that way for the first few seasons hahaha

If you are going to use a virtual Nanny to watch, might as well skip ahead to Season 3 or 4, or not watch at all. Some of the scenes are gratuitous, but others actually feed the plot. Yes, it's a bit risqué at times, but honestly, are you going to burst into flames by seeing it on tv? We all can make the choices we want, but I didn't feel any more or less wholesome after watching.

Every episode, more or less: 20 minutes of talking, 20 minutes of fighting, 20 minutes of f***ing.
Peter Dinklage puts it much better:

Nauga,
who prefers the subtlety of 'Robot Chicken'

Only reason I mentioned is because a coworker of mine at work watches it that way with his wife...he is Mormon lol. nothing wrong with that though

Hahaha...I'm glad someone may feel the same as I do about this

This is where a lot of the interior scenes are shot.

I had never heard it it before and we were channel surfing and recognized a few of the places that it was filmed and realized that was just down the road from our old house. Next few episodes we turned it into a drinking game when we recognizied somewhere, many a sort head come Monday morning

If you start watching it ever episode leaves off with a huge question about what happens next... so you end up watching just to find out that part which always leads to another thing.

Also you can stealth watch porn in front of your significant other because it's a drama not porn... not that I'd be the kind of person to do that, just saying that someone could do that. I'm far more mature and only appreciate for the story and artistic aspects of course.

Couple of good HBO shows:

WestWorld - apparently a remake... Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, couple other famous names. Has nudity but not excessive or gratuitous.
The Night Of - John Turturro is the most recognizable name, who I've always liked.

Westworld is remake but a thousand times better than the movie. Saw them filming scenes for it up in Canyonlands NP in Utah, took 2 years from that day to it finally made it to TV.

Night of was an remake of a U.K. show which was the better version

That was hilarious. And I'm with you on Robot Chicken.

There was a lot to explain starting off. The producers decided to throw in naked women every time there was an explanation. I read it referred to as "sexposition". There was quite a bit of criticism, and later seasons had far less that served the plot far more. It is still the best-produced show I've seen on television. Like watching a really good fantasy movie every week.

Well, I do have it added to my watch list on Amazon but it apparently requires payment or HBO subscription. Fortunately, it appears to have a 7 day free trial period. I guess I will need to set aside time for a binge fest.

I watched the first episode a couple weeks ago. Then I binge watched the first 5 seasons over the following week. Being a bit of a bible belt prude myself, the harsh sexual stuff was a bit off-putting, but aside from that, it's a pretty darn good show. I'm a sucker for medieval type shows.

Avid GoT fan. Just finished binge watching Season 7. I'm gonna hate the last episode of Season 8.

BTW... Westworld on HBO is not a remake, but more of a continuation. There are a few references to the movie in the new series.

I remember seeing the tribute to Yul Brynner's cowboy - nicely done.
