The person who sent this to me swears its true and I can't find anything on Snopes about it. In any event its one of the funniest things I've seen.

"On August 19th 2007, an oil tanker off the coast of Australia split in two, dumping 20,000 tons of crude oil.

Senator Collins, a member of the Australian Parliament, appeared on a TV news program to reassure the Australian public.

This actual interview is so funny, you'd swear it was a 'Saturday Night Live' skit.

It just proves... Once a politician, always a politician! "

Ummm...Barry, it IS a comedy skit.

Funny stuff. Not really the Senator though. The performers are John Clarke ("Senator" Collins) and Bryan Dawe (the interviewer). They do lots of other funny stuff on Aussie TV too. Here's another classic, Whales Killed by Seismic Test:

I tired to find the one from England about the bank failures.

"If you c* up, make it a big one."

Thanks guys - I was sure it was fake (nobody could be that stupid), but I couldn't find anything to prove it.
