I just updated to SV and noted that now my weather info such as flight rules, sky coverage, temp/dew spreads etc populate very slow on my maps. Worked great before. Sat and radar update just fine, I'd say within 10 seconds for the play back. Obstacles will populate instantly.

I timed it and it took about 1:20 minutes to populate flight rules. Once it populated, now the rest populates very quickly. Is it packaging all the data at once instead of just the requested data or....... .??

I'm on a connection equivalent to 4G.

Any ideas why weather info is lagging? Wondering if it's iOS 8 related, SV update related or both.

I upgraded to SV over the weekend and have been playing with it. The weather seems as quick as normal. I just checked and it seemed fine. You might want to contact FF, I have found their support to be excellent.

I did a hard reset thinking that was it. No dice. It is worse when I'm not on foreflight for a while....such as more than an hour.

I have been having other app issue since that Bullsh...... iOS 8 came out so I tend to believe its Apples FUBARed coders that are to blame myself. Like Safari constantly giving me a page load error and reloading, effectively doubling my data usage.

IOS 8 is rough. 8.1.2 seems to be a little better, although I assume you are on it. I had Swype on my IPad Air for a while, and it definitely did not play nice with FF. FF seems better after I removed it.

One thing that seemed to help me when I was having internet issues, was to switch between wifi and cellular. Not sure why it made a difference, but it did seem to help.

It would be nice if Apple stopped adding features and spend the time to make sure the ones that are there work.

I noticed some sluggishness in Foreflight when I was flying with SV on a cross country trip last weekend. Trying to "pinch" two fingers to measure a distance, there was a latency of maybe four seconds with SV on in the split-screen mode. When I had an overlay of flight rules or airport ceilings on the map, that took an extra second or two to refresh. That's all with an iPad3.

No problems with a delay of over a minute, unlike your report.

I'm sure you don't want to hear this... When I was a ForeFlight user I had a similar issue that was only resolved by uninstalling ForeFlight and installing it again. A pain, but it fixed my issue.

I had to do that once with FF as well, but that was for the app starting and shutting down right away after an upgrade. Their support was very apologetic. That was a couple of years ago and was the only time I had to reload it.

I don't remember it being all that bad. It would probably be worse now, as I have all of the W&B info in it now.

Another thought: what generation iPhone you have? I had a 4S until before Christmas...I noticed FF starting to progressively slow down, especially after iOS 8.

Just bought a 6 plus...WHOLE other ball game, it's fast and responsive. I think iOS 8 with all its features is designed for the faster processors. Just like windows..the latest versions are only fast on the latest hardware.

I'm on an iPad 2, not a phone.
