- - - - - I'm tired tonight.

I hadn't flown in months because of the bad weather which has been dominant during 2009. Today I picked up my Skyhawk at Twitchell's airport, fresh from its Annual in March. During 1.5 hours I did 10 T-O & L in 10 kt crosswinds. Then I headed home to my hangar at Wiscasset. That's only 26nm or so but I stretched the flight into 1.6 hours while playing with the GNS 430W, and upon arrival at Wiscasset I did 6 more landings at the world's 3rd worst crosswind(according to AOPA's Alton Marsh) airport.

I was somewhat shocked en route home to occasionally note IAS 130mph in the Skyhawk. I'll sleep like a baby tonight but suspect the smile will still be there tomorrow.

That's great! Why did the annual take 5 months?!

The annual didn't "take" 5 months. Maine had rotten WX all during April and May.
Discussing June through July 07 equaled 27 days of rain out of 32 days. What few sunny days were either too gusty or I didn't have flying time available.
Everyone back here has been groaning about how bad 2009 has been for flying.
