Everything Offends Me
Anyone still claiming airports for Operation: Fly? I transferred the site to its new maintainer last year, just checking in to see who still does it? If I flew anymore ibwould go claim some!

I have sworn I am going to start flying for fun again. Hold me to it...

Flying season never left!!
:yeahthat:

I heard talk of this mysterious "season" the other day at the local rural airport after an emergency landing. All I could think was, "why did you stop?" Winter is just as good as any other time to fly.

I usually fly all winter, but this year I got perhaps 2 or three hours for the whole season. Wx just turned to crap this year.

Is this the Go Fly America challenge from way back when you and I were younger??

It sure did. I didn't do any PnP missions or anything else notable. But I still managed to get up in the air at least an hour a week. Even got over to western IN for a PoA fly-in in February, and then to KPCW a couple of weeks ago.

About the same for me this winter, 1.5 hrs of flying since last Nov. The weather has been no good all winter for any fun flying.

Necroposting....

I'm somewhat new to it, having claimed one last October. Then winter weather, medical issue, and work got in the way. But I have claimed three airports so far this month. I see by the monthly stats that it is going to take some serious effort to top Barb Miller!

Anyway, the nice thing about Operation Fly is that as a late-comer, most of the remaining unclaimed airports in my area are somewhat more challenging. I consider this a good thing. No asphalt on the last three strips I claimed (6S6, 5S1, 9S3). And the first one last October, 5S2, is on Oregon's list of Warning Airports.

Thanks for starting the challenge!
