Animals - Skypilot

I figured all pilots, except for me, listen to Top Gun. Hmmm...

Steam Powered Aereo Plain -- John Hartford (Wrote "Gentle On MY Mind")

Marshmellow or it wasn't a real flight....

Buckethead: “Crack the Sky”

"To Live Is To Fly" - written by Townes Van Zandt, performed by Cowboy Junkies:

"Amelia" - Joni Mitchell:

There's one more I can think of but I'm not going to post it here. It's dark, very dark. It got a little bit of radio airplay back in 1971 but got pulled off most stations because of its subject matter.

If anyone wants to know what it is, PM me and I'll respond.

"DOA"?

Ron Wanttaja

Written and performed by a pilot who met his maker flying. RIP. Most well known version is a cover by Peter Paul and Mary

Apparently you don't listen to it well enough to not know that it is Kenny Logins - Danger Zone, which is on OP's list. ;)

Here's one I like:

Lyrics
Awake on my airplane
Awake on my airplane
My skin is bare
My skin is theirs
Awake on my airplane
Awake on my airplane
My skin is bare
My skin is theirs
I feel like a newborn
And I feel like a newborn
Awake on my airplane
Awake on my airplane
I feel so real
Could you wanna take my picture?
'Cause I won't remember
Could you wanna take my picture?
'Cause I won't remember
Yeah
I don't believe in
I don't believe in
Your sanctity
Your privacy
I don't believe in
I don't believe in
Sanctity
A hypocrisy
Could everyone agree that
No one should be left alone?
Could everyone agree that
They should not be left alone? Yeah
And I feel like a newborn
And I feel like a newborn
Kicking and screaming
Could you wanna take my picture?
'Cause I won't remember
Could you wanna take my picture?
'Cause I won't remember
Yeah
Hey, Dad, what do you think about your son now?
Ah, hey, Dad, what do you think about your son now?
Could you wanna take my picture?
'Cause I won't remember
Could you wanna take my picture?
'Cause I won't remember
Could you wanna take my picture?
'Cause I won't remember
Yeah

You are correct. I experienced Top Gun daily for a good part of my Enlisted Navy career and had a Commanding Officer from 2004-2006 that had to remind us often that he was in the background of the movie in a scene. Sick of the song, yup.

David

One of my favorite bands, actually.

Not classic rock, but if you can stomach a little techno...
