Block Island (KBID): Smoked Bluefish Dip at Finn’s

My wife and I love the plate of smoked bluefish dip at Finn’s on Block Island, RI. We burn 50 gallons just for that plate. Flight over the Long Island Sound is beautiful. We cannot wait for our first plate of the season this Friday. Can you share your favorite “flying plate”?

Why is that? I still haven’t gotten myself down there to check it out yet.

I’m a Reuben guy... I order them whenever possible. The Runway Café at GMU makes a mean one and so does the Flying Machine @ LZU. No pics, but I’m sure you can imagine what a Reuben looks like! ;)

Also had some decent BBQ at a little hole in the wall on the side of the road in Tullahoma (KTHA) with @simtech, @Velocity173 and @ktup-flyer a year or two ago. Can’t remember the name lol.

When you happen to be in ORD terminal C, check out The Berghoff’s reuben. I was told by many that it is to die for. I get full just from the smell (buttery grill) whenever I walk by the joint.:)

Thanks...Wilco!

I need to show that BBQ Sunday to my local favorite spot (407BBQ near Argyle, TX).... see if they can hook me up....

i concur MTV and BQ1 are very good places. GMU is a good spot as well; there burgers are very good.

Ok, our favorite smoked bluefish dip trip was cancelled today. I went fishing in the rocky sea in the foggy weather all day yesterday. After the successful black sea bass trip, drinks and cigars along with fishermen’s stories (lies) followed well into the night at the marina slip. When I woke up this morning, it was too late for the island hop. Smoked bluefish dip has to wait for now.

Since, I am back in the thread, let me share another excellent plate with you all. Portsmouth Pease Airport (KPSM), Warren’s Lobster House in Kittery, ME. A short drive in the courtesy crew-car from the FBO. Only other way to get a giant lobster roll (hoagie) like this is to make your own at home. Bon appetit!

Y’know, given the newly bored approach and tower controllers at KORD, perhaps this could be the Midwest flyin for summer. I used to know some rampers there but no longer. Hmmmm.

Why not? People are doing touch and goes (no landing fees in this case) at NYC airports (EWR, JFK, LGA). But, if you park and dine, landing and parking fee could turn $100 hamburger into $500 reuben, a greasy landing followed by a greasy sandwich.

Oh man... I'm going to have to remember this one. Tentatively planning on being in Portsmouth toward the end of July.
